So! The evening started off with me meeting up with my friends. It was raining of course and so I had to come prepared with an anorak and some handbag which I'd have to hold during the concert :/ but it was better than having to hold two jackets. We took the bus, then the train to Wood Green and popped in to McDonalds to have a
quick nibble. Then, we got the bus to Alexandra Palace where we joined the biggest crowd of hipsters I had ever seen O: Seriously! It was the hot spot of hipsters!
We went in and after looking around at a few t-shirt stalls, we went to the concert hall where we met a few friends of ours. After a few really good supporting acts (Rae Morris and Lianne La Havas) and standing about listening to some random songs on the surrounding stereo we noticed that underneath one of the fading jazzy beats came the beautiful calling voice of BBC's Jack Steadman. It got louder and louder and the lights went dimmer and dimmer and we all began to cheer and then next thing we knew, we were jumping up and down to How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep.
The best song I think was The Giantess which they joined with Emergency Contraception Blues. Just that song, there and then, made me feel the happiest I've been in a while :) When it finished, the crowd walked out singing to Easy Like Sunday Morning which was being played on the stereo. We had to wait at the bus stop for ages cos of the amount of people trying to get on but got home safely with a McChicken Legend to satisfy my hungry self. What a night. Going to have to organise another concert to go to soon. It's like a party but you're meant to purely enjoy the music with all the other people who appreciate it as much as you do :D
Today's song = A live version I found of Bombay Bicycle Club's 'The Giantess/Emergency Contraception Blues'
